The Worshipful Master and brethren of Beaver Lodge No 885 continue with their chosen charity Katie’s Ski Tracks.
» Katie's Ski Tracks is a unique charity which enables children with varying disabilities and diseases, (many of which are terminal) to go on a one off “holiday of a lifetime” all expenses paid, to the ski slopes in Austria. It is on these holidays that they learn to cope with other children with similar disabilities and to participate in activities which would normally be unheard of. It gives them something positive to think about when the going gets tough, it also gives the parents/guardians a well deserved rest from the day to day care they need. The response we have had from these children should be an example to all of us; their bravery should be rewarded. To the people who give their time and effort to these children we salute you.
Although Masonic ritual varies between jurisdictions, a consistent message conveyed to every candidate is that charity is an essential part of Freemasonry. From this philosophy comes much of a 'Mason's work', is given freely and willingly. Charity comes in many forms, both large and small.
